CDS Defence & Security (CDS DS), a world-class defence consultancy in partnership with Made to Measure Mentoring (M2M2,) providers of training-based coaching and mentoring, has signed a new, three-year contract to deliver the British Army’s Trainer Capability (ATC) contract providing accreditation, assurance, and further training opportunities for more than 2500 Army trainers per year.

The scheme ensures that all new recruits are trained by professionally qualified trainers, that vital coaching and mentoring skills are provided and that trainers are all supported throughout their professional development journey. In this way, Army trainers can provide the best possible support to commanders and are equipped to help recruits achieve the best outcomes from their training.

“Professional Development Branch within Army Headquarters is pleased to announce our partnership with CDS Defence & Security and Made to Measure Mentoring Limited in delivering the Army Trainer Capability, the premier trainer accreditation programme for the British Army.

CDS DS and their delivery partner M2M2 work alongside trainers from the Army’s trainer school of excellence and enable new learners to achieve a Level 3 Award in Education and Training through City & Guilds as well as a suite of optional Level 3 to Level 7 ILM Coaching and Mentoring qualifications.

“I am delighted that we at CDS DS and M2M2 have been awarded the Army Trainer Capability contract. I strongly believe in the value of embracing both coaching and mentoring methodologies and hope that this can help to enhance cultures within the British Army. The investment of accreditation to trainers reflects the British Army’s desire to ensure not only the best training possible for its service personnel but also that it wholly believes in the professional development of its soldiers and officers.” Colin Steers, Head of Training CDS Defence & Security.
