CDS Defence & Security has today been recognised by Defence Minister Ben Wallace for their outstanding support for the Armed Forces community by being awarded an Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award.
The MOD’s Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Awards represent the highest badge of honour available to those that employ and support those who serve, veterans, and their families.
Here at CDS DS we have a longstanding relationship with the military community with 50% of our current workforce coming from a military background and 10% being active reservists.
We are committed to creating an environment and culture which supports Reservists and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, which is why we offer 10 additional days paid leave for both to attend training. We also have a comprehensive process to ensure Reservists and their family are supported the moment a mobilisation Warning Order is received.
Our commitment to the wellbeing of our military workforce is highlighted further by our support of Veterans Mental Health Charity Combat Stress and the appointment of two Mental Health First Aiders at our offices in Cheltenham and Bristol.
Richard Bradley CDS DS Managing Director said of the award “We have worked with the Armed Forces, providing equipment support and high-level training, for over 30 years. Our growth and reputation in the industry has only been possible due to the military heritage and the diversity of our teams here. The skills of service leavers and Reservists are deeply embedded into the different disciplines within CDS DS, from Support Engineering to DSAT compliant training. Achieving the Gold award validates this and shows that, for us, employing ex-service personnel isn’t just good for business, it is the backbone of our business”
