Cheltenham based technical consultancy CDS Defence Support has been awarded a £4.6m contract via Knowledgepool Public Sector Managed Learning Service Framework to provide accreditation for specialist instructor courses for the British Army.
This transformation of the Army Trainer Capability will see specialist courses, from Award Level 3 to Level 7, mapped to Institute of Leadership and Management qualifications.
The contract scope of work, which will be undertaken by CDS DS and coaching consultancy Made 2 Measure Mentoring (M2M2), includes working alongside trainers at the Army Recruiting and Initial Training Command Staff and Leadership School (ASLS) to develop accreditation practices for the Defence Train The Trainer and Coaching & Mentoring Level 3 courses, the level 5 Army Trainer Mentor course and the Level 7 Army Instructor Leader courses.
Using a blended learning approach which will include centralised workshops, e-tutoring and e-learning, CDS DS and M2M2 will be accrediting the training, coaching and mentoring of almost 2,000 soldiers per year for the duration of this three-year contract.
Richard Bradley, Managing Director of CDS DS says of the win:
“Our training division has experienced tremendous growth over the last 12 months, and this contract win is a ringing endorsement of our expertise in this area. CDS DS and M2M2 are incredibly proud to be supporting ASLS as part of their programme to deliver the highest quality training, coaching and mentoring to the Army Trainer community.”
