Charity fits with CDS DS vision and values

CDS Defence Support are proud to announce that the veteran’s mental health charity, Combat Stress, has been selected as our Charity of the Year for 2019.

For almost a century, Combat Stress has helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They provide life-changing treatment to veterans from every service and every conflict. On the phone and online. In the community and at our specialist centres.

Richard Bradley, CDS DS Managing Director, says of this decision

“In 2018, we had a great year raising money for a number of different causes, and it showed us what could be achieved if we really focussed on one charity. We are a trusted partner to the Armed Forces, providing a range of solutions from environmental and safety advice to high level behavioural change training. We are also a silver member of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme. This recognises the commitment, over and above the ‘norm’, that CDS DS give to supporting employees that are part of the Armed forces community, whether that be as Reservists, Veterans or Cadet Force Members.

Over 10% of our workforce are Reservists and we actively seek to employ people who have left or are leaving the military. Therefore, being able to support a charity like Combat Stress fits perfectly with our vision and our values and we look forward to raising vital funds to support this charity in 2019”
